Semi-dry sparkling · 5.5% ABV · Cox apples + Ernest hops
Hoppy Cox came about because we love craft beer but we're cider makers. We wanted to see what would happen if we added Ernest hops — a wonderfully aromatic English variety — to a Cox's Orange Pippin cider. The answer is: something we couldn't stop drinking.
The hops add a layer of floral bitterness and aroma without making it taste like beer. It's unmistakably cider, just with an extra dimension.
Tasting notes
Pale golden in the glass with an active fizz. The nose is aromatic and hop-forward, with Cox's characteristic honeyed apple underneath. On the palate it's crisp and semi-dry, with a pleasant hoppy bitterness in the finish that keeps you coming back.
Food pairings
A natural with anything you'd pair with a hoppy pale ale — spicy curries, grilled halloumi, BBQ chicken, fish and chips. The bitterness is a great foil for rich, fatty or spicy food.
About the ingredients
Cox's Orange Pippin from our Tenterden orchard, hopped with Ernest — a Great British hop variety known for its clean, citrusy aroma. No added flavourings.
