Satakieli (Finnish for 'nightingale') is the most rarefied expression of what we make here in Tenterden. Made from single-variety Redlove and aged for two full years in Spanish Priorat wine barrels, this is a cider of profound complexity and patience.

Very few bottles exist. This is a collector's cider.

Tasting notes

Deep rose-mahogany in the glass. The nose opens slowly — wild red fruit, dried cherry, leather, dark earth and a whisper of Priorat's signature black mineral note. Two years in barrel has woven everything together into something seamless. On the palate it's rich, structured and layered, with supple tannins, dried berry fruit, spice and a finish that goes on and on.

About the barrels

Spanish Priorat is one of the world's great wine appellations — a harsh, slate-soil region producing intense, characterful reds. These barrels carried that character into our Redlove cider over two years of patient ageing.

Serving suggestion

Serve at cellar temperature (12–14°C) in a wine glass. Decant if you have time. Pairs with the finest food you can find — aged Manchego, lamb, venison, or very dark chocolate.
